How much does mole removal cost at SABA?
Most people need two things: the £200 assessment with Mr Mopuri, then the £250 removal.
SABA prices, October 2026. Mr Mopuri confirms your procedure and price at the assessment.
Which do I need?
- One mole on the body: the £200 assessment, then the £250 removal.
- A mole on your scalp, head or neck: add £150 to the removal price.
- Several moles: each extra mole removed at the same visit is £100 to £150.
- Not sure what to choose: send reception a message on WhatsApp (07703 980989).
If you have private medical insurance or a health plan through work, check whether your policy covers mole assessment or removal before you book.

How does that compare with other UK prices?
Private hospitals also publish guide prices for removing a simple mole or skin lesion. Spire Healthcare's prices range from £1,106 to £2,534, including the consultant's fee, and Nuffield Health's from £1,680 to £2,873, excluding consultant fees (TreatCompare price comparison, October 2026).
Prices aren't always like for like. Before you book anywhere, ask whether the first consultation and histology are included in the price you're quoted.

What's included, and what costs extra?
The £250 removal includes:
- local anaesthetic, so the area is numb before Mr Mopuri starts
- removal of the mole, which takes 15 to 45 minutes
- cosmetic closure, to keep the scar as small as possible
- written aftercare before you leave
Histology costs extra. It's offered where you ask for it or where Mr Mopuri advises it, and results take about 7 to 10 working days. Moles on the scalp, head or neck also cost £150 more.
Is it worth paying, or can I have a mole removed on the NHS?
Paying makes sense if your mole is harmless but bothers you, because the NHS doesn't usually remove harmless moles.
If a mole is changing or your NHS GP is worried about it, NHS assessment and treatment are free. A GP who suspects skin cancer refers you to a specialist, with an appointment within 2 weeks.
Private removal may suit you if:
- a mole catches on clothing, a bra strap, jewellery or your razor
- a mole on your face or neck bothers you
- you'd like it removed by a plastic surgeon, with cosmetic closure
- you have several moles you'd like removed at one visit

How do I have a mole removed at SABA?
- Book your £200 assessment online, by phone or on WhatsApp. You don't need a referral. Assessments are usually within the week; call reception on 01279 874388 to check availability.
- Mr Mopuri examines the mole. He explains which removal method suits it, what the scar is likely to look like and the final price.
- The mole is removed. After local anaesthetic, removal takes 15 to 45 minutes, and the wound is closed using cosmetic closure techniques.
- You go home with written aftercare. Mild soreness for a day or two is normal, and most people are back to daily activities within 1 to 2 days.
- If your mole was sent for histology, you get the results in about 7 to 10 working days.
The clinic is at Chapel House, Thremhall Park, just off the A120, with free parking outside.
Tip: Take a clear photo of your mole before your appointment. If it has changed recently, the photo helps me see how.
When should I see a GP about a mole?
See your NHS GP or a private GP soon if a mole has changed size, shape or colour. The NHS advises the same if a mole is painful, itchy, inflamed, bleeding or crusty, or if a new or unusual mark on your skin hasn't gone away after a few weeks. These can be signs of melanoma, a type of skin cancer, and need checking before any cosmetic removal.
