How much does a private menopause clinic cost at SABA?
Most women start with the £295 initial consultation, which lasts 45 minutes.
SABA prices, October 2026.
Which do I need?
- First visit about menopause or perimenopause: the £295 initial consultation.
- Already started treatment with us and due a review: the £195 follow-up.
- Prefer to see a consultant gynaecologist: call reception on 01279 874388 to book with Dr Sahu (£300 video, £450 face to face).
If you have private medical insurance or a health plan through work, check whether your policy covers menopause appointments before you book.
Visit our Bishop's Stortford clinic for a personalised assessment, expert medical advice, and treatment recommendations tailored to your individual needs.

How does that compare with other private menopause clinics?
Private menopause clinics in the UK charge £150 to £465 for a first consultation and £85 to £250 for a follow-up (TreatCompare price comparison, May 2026). The price depends on who you see, how long the appointment lasts and whether it's online or in person.
Before you book anywhere, ask who the appointment is with and how many follow-ups you're likely to need in the first year.
Would you like to talk your symptoms through? Book a menopause consultation in Bishop's Stortford with Dr Sulthana or Dr Jabbar, or call reception on 01279 874388 to check the next available appointment.
What's included in the £295 appointment?
Your 45-minute initial consultation includes:
- a detailed review of your symptoms and medical history
- an explanation of your treatment options, including HRT where appropriate, with the benefits, risks and alternatives
- a personalised plan to take away
- a prescription, if treatment is clinically appropriate after the full assessment
Follow-up reviews (£195) are paid separately, as are any holistic therapies, such as nutritional counselling or pelvic floor training, which the clinic prices individually. You pay the pharmacy for the medicine itself.
Is it worth paying, or should I see my NHS GP?
Paying makes sense if you want 45 minutes face to face with a GP who specialises in menopause, to cover all your symptoms in one appointment.
Your NHS GP can also help you improve your symptoms and find suitable medicines. If you're prescribed HRT on the NHS, an HRT prescription prepayment certificate costs £19.80 and covers certain HRT medicines for 12 months (NHS Business Services Authority, 2026).
A private menopause appointment may suit you if:
- you have several symptoms you'd like to discuss in one longer appointment
- you'd prefer to see a female GP who specialises in menopause
- you'd like a consultant gynaecologist's opinion without waiting for a referral

How do I book a menopause appointment at SABA?
- Try the 2-minute symptom self-check on our menopause page, if you'd like to see whether a consultation could help. It's a guide, not a diagnosis.
- Book online, by phone on 01279 874388 or on WhatsApp. You don't need a referral. Call reception to check the next available appointment.
- Come to your 45-minute appointment at Chapel House, Thremhall Park, just off the A120, where there's free parking outside.
- Your GP talks through your symptoms and options and agrees a plan with you. If treatment is right for you, you can leave with a prescription.
- Book a follow-up. National guidance recommends a review 3 months after starting each treatment, then at least once a year.
Tip: Jot down your symptoms and your period dates for a few weeks before you come. It helps us make the most of your 45 minutes.
When should I get urgent help?
Contact your NHS GP or a private GP if you have any vaginal bleeding after 12 months without a period. The NHS advises seeing a GP even for minor bleeding after the menopause, because it's not usually serious but can be a sign of cancer. The same applies if your periods have become heavier, or you have palpitations or a fast heartbeat.
If low mood is making it hard to cope, you can call Samaritans free on 116 123. If you're seriously unwell, call 999 or go to A&E.
